What is Permission?

Permission is a family-focused digital parenting platform. It gives parents genuine visibility into their child's online life — across mobile browsing, desktop Chrome, and eventually more — without surveillance, keyword monitoring, or hard blocking of legitimate content. Instead of just flagging problems, Permission helps parents understand patterns, start conversations, and build healthy digital habits alongside their kids.

Who is Permission for?

Permission is built for parents with school-age children (roughly ages 4–17) who use the internet on iOS devices and/or Chrome.

It's especially valuable for families who want to be engaged in their child's digital life without resorting to heavy-handed blocking or invasive monitoring.

Is Permission a surveillance or spyware tool?

No.

Permission does not capture keystrokes, screenshots, photos, messages, or email content. It tracks web browsing activity — the sites visited, time spent, and content categories — at the domain level.

Individual URLs are never shown to parents; only domain-level summaries are surfaced. Think of it as a digital report card, not a wiretap.

What devices and platforms does Permission support?

Currently Permission supports iOS (iPhone and iPad) via the child mobile browser app, and desktop Chrome via the browser extension. Android support is in development. The parent dashboard is accessible on any device through the web app at app.permission.ai.

What kinds of insights does Permission provide?

Permission's AI is always learning your child's patterns, so insights get richer and more personalized over time. You might see things like: how your child's screen time compares to their recent typical, which content categories they're spending time in, whether educational activity is part of their day, late-night usage patterns, or how many consecutive healthy days they've had in a row. The more your family uses Permission, the more meaningful the picture becomes.

Can I see the specific URLs my child visited?

No.

By design, Permission shows domain-level summaries (e.g., youtube.com) not individual URLs.

This preserves meaningful privacy while still giving you a clear picture of online behavior.

What is the Permission AI agent?

The Permission Agent is a conversational AI assistant built into the parent dashboard. It helps you understand your child's digital activity through natural conversation — answering questions, surfacing patterns, and offering parenting guidance — without requiring you to read raw data or dashboards.

Think of it as a knowledgeable partner who knows your family's data and speaks in plain language.

What is ASK?

ASK is Permission's family reward — a digital token parents use to recognize and reinforce positive behavior. Kids can earn ASK for things like healthy screen habits, completing goals, learning, and showing effort. Parents stay in control of how ASK is earned and what it's used for. Kids can redeem ASK for digital gift cards, family experiences, or other rewards you set. It's also a low-stakes, age-appropriate way to introduce kids to how digital money works.

Does Permission sell our data?

No.

Permission's business model is subscription-based. Your family's data is used exclusively to generate insights for you — it is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for third-party targeting.

How much does Permission cost?

Permission is $8.99/month or $49.99/year after a 14-day free trial.

What's included in the trial?

The full platform — all features, the AI agent, device pairing, insights, and rewards. No payment is required to begin a trial.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access until then.
