About Permission

Permission helps parents navigate the digital world with clarity, consent and confidence

We believe parents deserve tools that help them stay present and influential in their child’s digital life — even as social platforms and AI become more powerful.

That belief shapes everything we build.

Why Permission Exists

Today’s kids don’t just consume technology. They’re shaped by it.

Many parents feel caught between wanting to protect their kids and wanting to stay connected to them, without resorting to surveillance or control.

Permission exists to help families connect and achieve peace of mind by establishing healthy boundaries, shared understanding, and digital literacy — so parents stay meaningfully involved, as technology evolves.

The People Behind Permission

Charlie Silver

Charlie Silver has spent his career building large-scale platforms that succeed because people choose to participate.

He founded RealAge, a permission-based health platform that reached over 60 million users before being acquired by Hearst. He later co-founded Onramp Invest and Blockforce Capital, helping launch the first blockchain ETF and working at the intersection of finance, regulation, and emerging technology.

Charlie founded Permission with a clear conviction: Families need parenting tools that reflect their values and that are built on trust — not fear, manipulation, or constant monitoring.

As CEO, he focuses on long-term vision, product philosophy, and ensuring Permission remains aligned with its core principle: asking permission isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation.

Building With Intention

Permission isn’t designed to maximize engagement or data extraction. It’s designed to help families make informed decisions — together.

Clear explanations over complexity

Education alongside insight

Respect built into the system

Built for Families— Not Platforms

Permission was created by parents who understand the tension families live with every day

  • Wanting to protect without hovering
  • Wanting awareness without prying
  • Wanting help without losing authority

Our approach is guided by respect for families, children, and the role parents play in shaping healthy digital lives.
